FOCUS’ initial purpose has been to provide simplified fleet wide, multiple portfolio, monitoring to support operations teams simplify real time awareness for hundreds of individual generating assets at a glance. Since its inception in 2019 FOCUS has continued to grow to support additional forms of generation, including: solar, wind, energy storage, and EV chargers; as well as complex microgrids.

Performance Indicators

Instead of transferring all of the raw data to the cloud as raw data, FOCUS collects a critical set of information that is securely streamed from the Acuity edge computers to provide operators the essential information they require to understand the operating status of the remote generator.

This information is referred to as key performance indicators (KPIs) and allow for up-to-the-minute performance analysis, eliminating the need to manually process raw data in spreadsheets, and enabling real time awareness of generator performance across hundreds of assets at a glance.

While KPIs exist for individual devices as well as generator level aggregates, FOCUS receives the following subset of all KPIs that are available every five minutes:
